Memorial Day Celebration
We are pleased to announce our 3rd annual Memorial Day celebration will be held Friday, May 23rd at 9:30 a.m. Please save the date and plan to join us that morning!
In the tradition of Memorial Day, we will remember the men and women who died while serving in the United States Armed Forces, especially those of our extended school family. Please share with us the names of your friends and loved ones who died in any of America’s conflicts so we may include their names in a place of honor on our “Memorial Wall.” We will also take this opportunity to thank all of our: veterans, active duty personnel, National Guard members, and reservists for their service.
Please complete the form with the following information and return to your child’s teacher no later than Wednesday, May 12th.

Student Assignments 2014-2015
The first week of December, students received an Initial Notice of School Assignment for the 2014-15 school year. Students will be assigned to stay in their current schools with their current level of transportation through the final grade of the school, provided there is no change of address for the family. Rising 6th and 9th graders will be assigned to their base school. Students who wish to stay in their current schools do not need to do anything.
New student enrollment for the 2014-15 school year begins Jan. 13, 2014. Students new to the district and incoming kindergartners will be assigned to their base schools. To be eligible for kindergarten, students must be five years old on or before Aug. 31, 2014. Go to the base school for your address to enroll your student.

To promote continued cooperation between families and schools, Wake County Public School System is offering Parent Academy – a series of classes, workshops and events aimed at helping families learn to engage with the school system and positively contribute to their child's academic and social success.
Throughout your child’s educational career, you and your child will make many decisions about programs, schools, opportunities and courses. As your child’s most effective advocate, you need to know how these decisions can affect your child’s future. Families who attend Parent Academy will gain invaluable knowledge – from preparing their kindergartener for the first day of school to choosing the right courses for their college-bound high school student. All events are free and open to the public. Registration is required.
